Well known to peers as a "practitioner of elderly care in communities", Guangzhou Qi Chuang Social Work Service Center will make its appearance at the 2nd China International Silver Industry Exhibition ("SIC") together with other distinguished guests from Japan and Taiwan and Hong Kong regions. It will share its professional experiences in home-based elderly care in the community, attract more NGOs to the site for exchanges, and at the same time recruit quality suppliers of elderly-friendly products, for the purpose of seeking more partners for its "Qi Chuang Elderly Home Improvement Program".

At present, approximately 200,000 elderly people in Guangzhou have the need for living in a nursing home. The Bureau of Civil Affairs of Guangzhou Municipality plans to invest 500 million RMB this year in the expansion of the houses for the elderly, construction of elderly care establishments in different districts, and setup of the demonstration center of home-based elderly care services and 50 day care establishments for the elderly people in Guangzhou. It will also invest RMB 334 million in government purchase of social work services. With two years of experiences in the operations of the Integrated Service Center for the Elderly in Haizhu District (the Demonstration Center of Home-based Elderly Care Services in Guangdong Province), Qi Chuang will continue to promote the home-based elderly care services in different communities of Guangzhou, serve as a role model for other integrated elderly service centers of district and sub-district levels, and provide professional advices to the government on further implementation of the home-based elderly care program.  

Under the "Qi Chuang Elderly Home Improvement Program", which is designed for eliminating the safety risks in the residences of the poor elderly people who are living alone in Guangzhou, in less than 1 year since 2014 when the program was commenced, Qi Chuang has conducted assessment on the safety of the residences of 137 elderly people, completed safety renovation works in 94 households and refurbished the staircases and corridors of 3 public residential buildings for the elderly people who are living alone. At present, this program has been funded by Ren Ren Jia Homeland (人人家家园) and Venture Philanthropy in Hong Kong, together with the funds raised in the public interest activities such as "Walking Proud".
