As one of the Government procurement social service piloting projects, Guangzhou Jianshe Street Community Family Integrative Service Center, will be present at the summit of SIC2014 to discuss with the audience, organizations and experts about the best elderly care operation model with the topic of ‘operation management of community elderly care’.

Every family has an elderly and everyone grows old. The global practice of elderly care mainly includes family care, community care and institutional care. Community care brings the service of institutional care into communities, so that elderlies are able to receive professional services like day care, temporary custody, rehabilitation care, mental comfort, etc. As a highly feasible and suitable way of elderly care, community care has great potential to develop in China.

Currently, most of community care systems in most region of China are at preliminary level. From one community’s experiment to a project with social attention and participation, the mode of community care is explored with much support and promotion from the government. Among all, Guangzhou, as the center city of South China, has already been leading the industry all across the country. 

Up until 2013, the fiscal capital invested in public service projects of Guangzhou reached 320 million RMB, which is a 61 folds’ increase in 5 years’ time. Among all these projects, the public service project of family integrative service center has covered communities of 158 streets. Guangzhou jianshe Street Community integrative service center, as the typical model of community care in China, has already discovered an effective way of practice.

Jianshe Street Community was the first to buy service from Sunshine Social Work Affairs Center in order to establish the family integrative service center. The center is supervised directly by Guangzhou Bureau of Civil Affairs. It was one of the 20 piloting projects of Guangzhou government’s attempt of investing in social service in 2011. The center has adopted ‘civil affair + street community model and established a comprehensive elderly caring platform which covers family service, volunteer service, specific issue solution, etc.

The director of Jianshe Street Community Family Integrative Service Center will make a keynote speech on the hot topics in community care operation at the summit of SIC2014 in Guangzhou Poly World Trade Expo from October 9th - 11th. The presentation will mainly cover three themes which are operation management, mental comfort, and health nursing. As a result, more government departments and communities will pay attention to Jianshe Street Community and more facilities and service providers will be discovered. Jianshe Street Community Family Integrative Service Center will be able to further develop its capabilities and influence.
