Guangdong Issued Star Rating Management for Elderly Care Institutions, Which Shall Come into Effect on September 1
A few days ago, the Department of Civil Affairs of Guangdong Province issued the Management Measures of Star Rating for Elderly Care Institutions (Trial), which stipulates the star rating, evaluation criteria, evaluation procedure, requirement and withdrawal mechanism of elderly care institutions in Guangdong. The evaluation shall be carried out in accordance with the Technical Specification for Quality Evaluation of Elderly Care Institutions in Guangdong Province. Elderly care institutions shall be divided into grades from one star to five star, of which the five star is the highest. It is understood that these measures will go into effect on September 1, 2018, for a trial period of three years.

Regulations on the Protection of Elderly Rights and Interests in Henan Province to Come into Force on January 1 Next Year
A few days ago, the Regulations on the Protection of Senior Rights and Interests in Henan Province has been approved and will officially come into effect on January 1, 2019. This is the first major amendment to the Regulations on the Protection of Seniors in Henan Province after it was issued by the Standing Committee of the Henan People’s Congress in 1990.

Chongqing’s Community Elderly Care Service “One Thousand and One Hundred Projects” Launched
Some days ago, the General Office of Chongqing Municipal People’s Government issued the Implementation Plan for Chongqing’s Community Elderly Care Service “One Thousand and One Hundred Projects”.
According to the plan, Chongqing will build 1,000 new community elderly care service stations from 2018 to 2020, with a focus on building 100 city-level demonstration community elderly care service centers. Among them, 200 new community elderly care service stations and 20 city-level demonstration community elderly care service centers will be built in 2018.

Panasonic Invests in Chinese Companies Eyeing on China’s Growing Elderly Care Market
According to Jiji Press, Panasonic said in a statement on 26 that it has invested in Beijing’s Yada Senior Care Industry Co., Ltd. Through this investment, Panasonic will provide nursing beds and other products for nursing facilities run by the Yada.
The amount of the investment was not announced.
Panasonic plans to expand its sales in promising Chinese market through cooperation with local enterprises.
